Walking for your favourite designer turns out not only a cake walk but also a dream walk. When Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty strut her stuff on runway for Tarun Tahiliani collection on the last day of WLIFW Spring/Summer 2011 in the capital, it must have gave the lady a sense of home coming. If we remember Shilpa’s last ramp appearances it was all for Tarun that too in best of couture.

Tarun brings dreamy element to his collection with the use of sheer romantic fabrics in beige, brown-to-die-for and crystal embellishments. Undoubtedly, the clothes were as regal as marvelous. Shilpa’s dress for the night with Indian ethnic design had modern silhouette. (See her images courtesy agencies). The lower part of the dress was capacious in tulle and the lady graced the ramp with oomph. The fantasy-like dress also had a gypsy feel to it. Another star attraction of the evening was the gorgeous Chitrangada Singh who glided on ramp in a peach gossamer silk sari bejeweled in crystals. Her presence came as a sweet surprise.

How the lavish night came to an end? The last day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 also had musical performance by Sufi singers and later models danced to the light folk music. Set for the final day was also grandiose made of two artificial trees of jute added with splendid lighting.

But what shocked many was that the final bow of the designer was with Shilpa instead of Chitrangada. Well, Shilpa and Tarun’s connection is not new.

“Jewish music”, as the name says, it is the music of Jews that got its existence thousands of years ago. Fromental Halevy, Jacques Offenbach, Joel Engel, Ernst Bloch, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, are some of the other outstanding composers who happened be the pillar stones in promoting Jewish music. These musicians never played the music, rather they lived on music. Most of these ancient musicians were highly concerned in conveying patriotic and religious music. Hence Jewish music once played a major role in building people’s religious and patriotic feel, which later led Hebrew rulers to ban the music in countries like Babylon and Persia.
