Crib Sheets

Sheet Music

When talking about crib sheets, most people are referring to the fitted sheet used over the crib mattress. Cribs that are irregular in size or shape will have sheets designed especially for it, as well as mattresses, and may be harder to find and more expensive. Occasionally you can find a flat sheet, except that one end is actually fitted to fit snugly on the mattress.  These sheets are not common but are great on warm nights, when baby needs little if any covering.

Crib sheets come in all sorts of fabrics, colors, and patterns. Which ones you choose are up to you. It is a good idea to have several sheets, because baby often will soak his diaper at night, getting the sheets wet. A water proof mattress pad is important to protect the mattress.  You may also by several crib pads to put between fitted sheets so you can put several on at a time.  That way when baby wets one sheet, you simply remove it and the underlying pad and a nice, dry sheet is already there.

How nice not have to put on a sheet in the middle of the night.

Basic sheets are readily available and inexpensive.  Designer sheets, or sheets matching a specific theme are often harder to find and more expensive. The best sheets for baby are made from 100% cotton, often organic cotton.  Other choices include blends and cotton flannel. Cotton is often more durable and breathable. Cotton flannel may pill and cause a danger to baby. As soon as any pilling is noticed, while normal, the sheet should be removed.

Music Lover’s Buying Guide: Rock And Roll Sheet Music Adds Unique Touch To Memorabilia Collections

without comments

Sheet Music

With the amount of music lovers within any circle of friends and family, one would think that purchasing music related gifts would be easy, considering the amount of music stores in the mall, and EBay auctions online. Unfortunately music merchandise in the mall consists primarily of bands that are currently trendy, and the selection is limited to tee shirts and posters. If a collector loves a certain band or artist, chances are, they will already have the memorabilia that is easier to obtain. Online auctions may get you the item for less but there is no guarantee if older memorabilia is authentic, and not everyone wants to participate in a bidding war. When searching for music memorabilia, rock and roll sheet music is a gift which will really stand out. Fans who have received rock and roll sheet music from their favourite bands think it is a thoughtful and unique gift, and they rarely already own it. The best place to buy rock and roll sheet music is from a music memorabilia collector, who has a passion for rock and roll sheet music, and other music related collectors items.

How to Read Drum Sheet Music – Easy to Understand Explanation of How to Read Drum Music

without comments

Sheet Music

Do you struggle reading drum sheet music, whether you find tabs on the internet or ‘real’ drum music from a book or magazine?  You might see them as a bunch of random lines and strange symbols?  If this is the case you are right, they are.  Let me burst the music bubble right now, those strange meaningless lines, dots and symbols are the language of music that is the key that unlocks the door to your favorite songs and bands.

There are really two types of drum sheet music.

1. Traditional Drum Music Notation

2. Drum Tabs found on the internet

Drumming Tabs

These tabs have become very popular over the last 10 years and you will find them exclusively online at drum, guitar and bass sites mainly.  They have become so popular because the author can produce the tabs for free and are notated without the need to buy expensive software.  Anyone viewing the tabs needs no software at the other end and thus creates a great partnership.  Tabs represent the division of the beat with small dashes, these dashes also serve as the five line stave.  The drum elements are written with circles or the letter o, hi-hats and cymbals are read with a x.  Each drum or cymbal is written almost in the same way as traditional notation, I say almost!
