Dutch act C-Mon and Kypski. This episode was shot right after their performance at the big PinkPop Festival. C-Mon & Kypski is a four piece. They compose and produce the music in their own home studios. The style goes from funk, rock to polka and is usually served with some hip-hop lavour. Add to this a heavy dose of turntablism by Holland¹s six times national turntable champion Kypski. Live on stage C-Mon & Kypski are unique when it comes performing their tracks. Learning how to play the guitar—or any other musical instrument for that matter—has changed in today’s world. Not counting YouTube and the rest of the Internet, there are already a wide variety of do-it-yourself courses, books, videos and DVDs supplying students with seemingly everything they need to learn music.

However, information is not enough in the realm of music. Rather, it is how one uses this information that makes the difference between good and mediocre performances. In terms of learning, there are certain intangibles (e.g. accountability, inspiration, etc.) that no DVD, CD, or YouTube video can impart. And that, our friend, is where private music lessons shine.

The Learning Curve

See, taking personal music lessons provide students with benefits that are not easily acquired through do-it-yourself courses.
